Dear Sister-Friends of HHS 69!

Here is an idea I would like to do for our group.  Would like your ideas as I need all of your participation in some way.  In the end we would have a classy, beautifully designed photographic cookbook filled with all of our favorite recipes.  My Sister’s friend did one of these and it is breathtaking, and a keepsake for always. 

What I would need from all of you is:

1}  your favorite recipes thru the years.  You would just send these to me thru the    

     computer.

2)  some awesome photographs of your families, of special moments with other girlfriends

     from our class, and all of these need to come to me in .jpg form.  If you don’t know how   

     to do this I can help. 

     I will pair your photos with your recipes on the same pages etc. 

3}  at our event weekend, we will be taking a lot of photos, and especially total group

     photos that will be used for the covers.  The photographs will actually be in the

     hardback cover.  There will be no paper flap wrap.  They tear easily!

4)  I have some fun ideas of photo-ideas for the groups and places to take them but

     welcome more ideas.    Here’s a few:

    1)  In front of the High School

    2)  Out at the Dunes

    3)  Carey Park

    4)  Dairy Queen

    5)  Top Hat – if it is still there. 

    6)  Fairgrounds Sign

    7)  Cosmosphere capsule

I also think we should all bring cool hats.  In August it will be very sunny and so it will look very cool and help us from not squinting!  Gail Kinzie has a very cool photo of her and a few girls sitting on a rock wall at water front from the back and it is so cool.  We could do something like that for the back cover perhaps. 

I am willing to be the person that puts it together but as you can see I need your help in getting me the information. I can’t tell you how very special these books are.  Very classy, very beautiful.  And it will be an awesome treasure for us all to have of our Celebration of our 60^th bday party and our years of friendships.  We are such a special group of people and this would rightly celebrate it beautifully.

Originally I had thought to have it for the event, then decided oh no, we need to have photos of the event in it, and especially the covers. 

My guesstimate of the cost of the books would be probably around $40, maybe 45 per book.  It depends on how many pages we have.  My sisters had 80 pages, full color, beautiful quality, and theirs were under that.  These would be great Christmas presents for ourselves don’t you think? 

My plan is to have most of the photos and recipes done before the event but will accept more at the event.  I will also bring a copy of one that weekend so you will be able to see one, touch and feel too!

If you want to look I am either going to use blurb.com or lulu.com to make them.  You can see on there some examples.

I also am thinking for those that can’t attend, they can send a cardboard size of themselves and we can input them in some photos!  That would be fun but at their own expense!
