Hey sexysixty ladies......just for your info Prairie Dunes will be closing the whole club Sat at noon for a wedding. We can still go to Sandy Bell's. A reminder that it is very hot here. 106-110 thru the weekend. So dress cool for Sat. night. They have a pool there for anyone who can't stand the heat. It WILL be x-tra hot with all us babes here in Hutchinson!! Looking forward to it.

As of today we are up to 46. Please don't think you are too late. If you are thinking of coming, please do and send a check to me. I am sending Patty an updated list (they are making crafty nametags). I'll have her forward to Val and she can update her list on this site. I'm heading for the mountains for the rest of the week with no cell or internet, and the last week with the grandkids. (We think we've had them all their lives). We also need a close count for the RAZ and Anchor Inn so they have an idea. We have 30 seats reserved for the Anchor as there is a 20 year reunion for Nickerson HS that same night. So please let us know. We know some won't be coming until Sat. and some have to leave early Sun.

Hi Girls-
We are fast approaching our Birthday Bash in August. If you haven't dropped your check in the mail for Saturday night to Sandy Jackson Siegfried and notified her of the activities you plan to participate, please do so as soon as possible--even thought I believe she gave a mid July cut off. We want to get name tags made and solidify our arrangements.

Also, please drop a recipe and any photos you want to share (past or present) to Valjean in jpeg format so she can continue work on the cookbook!

just a note to encourage you to send photos and recipes to me. the photos should be in .jpeg form if possible. recipes doesn't matter as i have to retype them anyway. Word is easiest! even if you are not able to come to the event, this is a way for you to be part of the festivities. the books are extremely classy and excellent quality. they will be available in softcover or hardcover, both will have the group photos on the covers. They will range from $26 - $38 before shipping and tax. They will be approximately 80 pages. if they add any volume discount i will pass it on to everyone, of course. this is not a money making event, it is a treasure to commemorate our 60th birthdays! i am looking for recent photos of your families and especially old photos of us during our early years. i will have sample books at the event so you can see how great they are. please send stuff as you find them. and you can bring them to the event if you haven't found them until then. have fun going thru your photos! and remember the recipes just need to be your faves not Joy of Cooking! If there are stories to go with the photos and/or recipes, please add those. they make the books even more interesting and fun! any questions, please email me! looking forward to hearing from you all! Hi Girls-

As several of you know, i have recently suffered a severe technological glitch (albeit self-inflicted) and am trying to get everything back "as was." If you note anyone on the above list I have omitted, please feel free to let me know and I will get them added.

Plans are speeding along for our Birthday Bash in August. We are looking forward to a wonderful time. PLease be sure and check the FB page and Blog for the wonderful plans Claire Foy and Sandy Siegfried have made for us for our special weekend. All checks for Saturday evening and the head count for Friday go to Sandy, per her address she has given in that info. I thought it might also be a good idea to give Sandy and Claire an idea of what you would like to do as far as the activities they have suggested so we will have an approximate idea of the #.

IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY, PLEASE SEND A COUPLE OF RECIPES TO VALJEAN VIA EMAIL PLUS ANY OLD PERSONAL PHOTOS YOU MIGHT HAVE!!! I personally took her at her word and sent family favorites, and believe me, after raising two sons there was nothing fancy involved! Val has a darling idea for the cookbook going, and this is a perfect way to be part of the activity if you are unable to attend. I am very excited about her idea for the back cover of the cookbook and will be shopping for my sun hat soon (which I need anyway)! Check out Gail Brewster's FB page for what Val has in mind--it's a beautiful picture of Gail and the women in her family enjoying their summer get-together in Maine. I believe Gail or Val was going to post this on our FB page and may have already done so. JUST REMEMBER-if you don't send old photos of your own, you are at our mercy and who knows what we will pick. If I can send pictures of myself around a campfire (even the word now makes me shudder) with no make up and straight hair (no flip), surely everyone can come up with something!

To me, that is the beauty of this get-together. So many people have chipped in and become part of it in so many ways, it is truly OUR activity. No one cares anymore about all the old junk--we are just looking forward to being together and rejoicing in our shared history of growing up and our maturity! Kim Carter Witt said to me many years ago, we were blessed to grow up in a wonderful time together, and I truly believe that. Please chip in and get that info to Val (I honestly thought about sending my recipe for dog water because our dogs only drink what I put in their bowls-no one else) so don't feel like you need to send anything fancy! For those of you who want to know--fill one Walmart Red Plastic pitcher with cold water and pour in 2 ceramic bowls placed on a monogramed LL Bean waterhog dog mat. My recipes weren't much fancier.

We are going to have a great time in August and create more special memories. Please join us for a great time and make it special with your participation!

OK Ladies-I've got a couple of business items to get ready for the party this summer. First of all, I did not carefully read Sandy's post--be sure you send her your $ for Sat night and I would think it might be helpful is we had an idea of who was interested in doing what.

Secondly, Valjean is hard at work on the cookbook so if you haven't already PLEASE email her a couple of recipes and any old photos you may have in jpeg format. I personally took her at her word and sent family favorites and believe me they are not fancy dishes. Having raised 2 sons I would put our favorites more in the "hearty" category-not gourmet!! I'm looking forward to the photo also in sun hats-if you haven't already look at Gail Brewster's photo of the women in their family on vacation! Maybe Gail would be kind enough to post the photo on this page.

Hey girls! I hit pay-dirt today in a box of photos that were from Jr. High and High School for the Photographic Cookbook. I can hardly wait to get hem all scanned in. Please take some time to find yours as we will all have different peeps in our photos. Also send me your favorite recipes, they can be someone else's in your lives. Remember to tell me who is in your photos and alittle something perhaps about why that recipe is special to you and/or your family. Wanted you all to know Maggi Conger Spain's husband passed away suddenly Monday evening. Apparently he had been out running and collapsed. His funeral is Friday at Trinity at 10:00 am. Maggi's info is part of our list, so if you want to let her know we are thinking of her you can get in touch with her. I cannot imagine what a difficult time this is for her and my prayers are with her. Patty
